1. Introduction
FlockedIn (“we”, “us” or “our”) is an app for small groups to read the Bible together. This policy explains what we collect when you use the FlockedIn app and this website (the “Service”), who can see it, and how to delete it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we show your posts only to your flock, and we never sell your data or show you ads.
2. Information we collect
Things you give us:
- Email address, to send you sign-in codes. There are no passwords.
- Your sheep: the name you choose and your wool colour.
- Flocks: the flocks you start or join, their names, invite codes and reading plans.
- Reading: which chapters you mark as read, your daily check-ins and the wool you earn.
- What you write: prayer requests, answers and testimonies, reflections, and your taps and praises on other people’s prayers.
- Reports and blocks: who you report or block, the reason, any note you add, and a copy of the reported content.
Things collected automatically: the times when you take these actions, and your flock’s time zone so the day’s reading changes at midnight. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and device type) for security and to keep the Service running.
We do not use analytics or advertising tools, track you across other apps or websites, or collect your location, contacts or photos.
3. How we use your information
- To sign you in and run the app: show today’s reading, your flock, prayers and wool.
- To keep the community safe: review reports, remove content and remove accounts that break our Terms.
- To reply when you contact us.
- To fix problems and protect the Service from abuse.
We only email you sign-in codes. We don’t send marketing emails.
4. Who can see what
- Your flockmates see your sheep, name and colour, whether you’ve read today, and the prayers and reflections you share with the flock.
- Anonymous posts show your flock the content but not your name. Private reflections are seen only by you.
- People outside your flocks can’t see your posts or your name.
- We can see stored data, including who wrote anonymous posts, when we need to: for example to review a report or help you with a problem.
These rules are enforced by the database itself, not just by the app.
5. Third-party services
We use these providers to run FlockedIn. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and hosting.
- Resend: sends sign-in codes, and sends us an email when someone makes a report.
These providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States. Each has its own privacy policy.
6. Cookies
This website doesn’t use tracking or advertising cookies. If a page needs you to be signed in, a cookie keeps you signed in, and that’s all it does.
7. Data sharing
We never sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with the providers listed above, so they can run the Service;
- when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
8. Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app, from Settings → Delete account. This deletes your profile, your posts, your reading history, your wool and your blocks straight away.
Reports are the exception. A report, including the copy of the reported content, is kept after either person deletes their account, but without the link to that account, so we can still act on it and keep the community safe. Copies of reports are also kept in our email inbox.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that’s wrong (you can change your name in Settings yourself);
- delete your data;
- send you a copy of your data.
Email hello@flockedin.app from the address you sign in with. If you’re unhappy with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and the database only lets each person reach data they have access to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell you if a breach affects you.
11. Age
FlockedIn is for people aged 16 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we learn that someone under 16 has an account, we’ll delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we’ll post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know before it takes effect.
